Oxford City Council’s cabinet approved its Air Quality Action Plan 2021–2025, establishing the council as “the first UK local authority to set out a city-wide air pollution reduction target.”
The plan encompasses 30 actions the Council and partners will implement between 2021–2025 to enhance air quality in Oxford. Notably, the Council set a voluntary nitrogen dioxide (NO2) target of 30 µg/m³ by 2025 — surpassing the UK Government’s legal requirement of 40 µg/m³.
